World-renowned fashion designer Issey Miyake turns 75 today. Sometimes referred to as "the godfather of Japanese fashion," Miyake is famous for his creativity, innovation and ground breaking ideas. I love his use of color and the structural quality of his designs.
Can you believe the white dress below (third image) is made from one single piece of fabric?

“Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street. Fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, and what is happening.”

A while back, I read the book Just Kids by Patti Smith. From the very first page, I was in love with her style of writing. It's poetic and descriptive, playful and captivating all at the same time. I'm thinking I might just re-read it.. as soon as I finish one of the many other books I've started. I guess some books are just harder to put down.

Tiffany & Co. / Video
The amazing Danny Roberts of Igor + André - this man is such an inspiration (!) Here is a video of Danny painting a mural outside Tiffany & Co. in Soho this summer. Those of you who follow his blog may have already seen this (somehow I missed it) but anyway, it's worth a look !
